Subrecipient Watch

The data and its limits

Everything comes from the public Federal Audit Clearinghouse, run by the U.S. General Services Administration.

What we use

For each UEI: audit summaries, findings, federal awards and pass-through names. Every result links to the clearinghouse's report. We reload watched organizations daily. Where an audit was resubmitted, we use the newest version.

What it can't tell you

  • Extensions: an agency may have extended a deadline.
  • Spending in a year with no audit: so we can't say whether an audit was required.
  • Audits under another UEI: an organization audited under a parent's UEI shows as having no audit.
  • Older audits: findings on some audits migrated from the old clearinghouse can't be found by UEI. Recent audits aren't affected.
  • Restricted audits: a tribal organization may opt out of public access. We don't show findings on those, even where the API returns them.

Read the report itself before you rely on a result. If something looks wrong, tell us.
